The first step in drilling waste management is to separate the solid cuttings from the liquid drilling mud. In this stage, drilling fluids are processed by separating solids particles from the drilling fluids which called drilling mud solids control and indispensible equipment such as shale shaker, decanter and mud cleaners will be used to separate the solids in drilling mud according to the solids parameter size. Once solid and liquid drilling wastes have been separated, companies can use a variety of technologies and practices for drilling waste management.
The following will specifically describe the processing procedures in this stage. For some applications, drilling wastes are solidified or stabilized prior to their ultimate management practice. The management technologies and practices can be grouped into three major categories: waste minimization, recycle/reuse, and disposal. When the drilling and completion of waste is conducted during the curing process, the filter or belt transmission device can be transferred via a closed screw conveyor to prevent recontamination. When carrying out a curing treatment, it also need to add the appropriate curing agent in order to reduce the water content to achieve the best curing results.
