The drilling fluids flows directly into the back tank through the flow line after the mud comes out of the surface of the well. The solids that precipitates in the back tank would be discharged through the bottom hole, and drilling fluids would flow onto the screen surface. The solids that are bigger than the meshes would be separated and threw out of the shale shaker through other end of shale shaker screen. and the fluids with smaller particles would go through the meshes and enter the mud tank for further separation.
Shale Shaker Structure
The screen of shale shaker can be pieces of panels, or one integrated panel. The angle of the screen can be horizontal, or with a certain angle, or adjustable within a angle range, such as -1° ~ +5° or -3° ~ +6°. The screen can be one layer, or double layers. The engineer must choose the right type of shale shakers according to the geological and drilling fluids requirement. When the drilling fluids volume is large, double or triple shale shakers could be operated, such the purification ability of the shale shaker would be much improved.
